Updated Thursday July 13, 2000, 10:01 PM GMT Arif Erdem
Erdem destroyed Northern Ireland with a four-minute hat-trick hat-trick at Windsor Park during qualifying, and has established a formidable pairing with Hakan Sukur for both club and country. He first came to the attention of British supporters when he netted in Galatasaray's 3-3 draw at Old Trafford in 1993 and can operate anywhere along the frontline or on either flank. After appearing as a substitute in the opening 2-1 defeat to Italy, Arif's wayward passing did little to enhance his reputation as a starter against Sweden. He recovered his form in the Belgium clash, making Sukur's second goal before being injured by Belgian keeper Filip de Wilde's late and high challenge. Another who was disappointing against Portugal.
