Ercan starts the Championships as first choice down the left flank and his winding runs and crosses caused mayhem for opponents in qualifying.
The 28-year-old Fenerbahce star missed only one qualifying match as Turkey finished second behind Germany.
Played in Turkey's first group game of Euro 2000 - a 2-1 defeat to group favourites Italy. But he had a poor game and failed to create much for the Turkish forward line.
Played consistently in the crucial third game against Belgium.
