Brondby coach Aage Hareide signed Svensson from Norwegian club Viking Stavanger, having come up against this combative, energetic midfielder during his time as boss of Molde.
The qualities that Hareide sees in him are also appreciated by the Swedish co-managers, though he remains a squad player rather than a first-team regular.
Replaced Larsson with only ten minutes left of the Turkey game, but failed to make much impact as a starter against the Italians.
