Scored Sweden's goal in their 2-1 defeat against the Belgians, but can thank De Wilde's goalkeeping goof for his strike. Nevertheless, his persistence paid off, and the goal capped a typically hard-working display.
Was rather aggressive against Turkey and was booked for his troubles. Muzzy Izzet will not have been happy with the mid-air surgery Mjalby attempted on him in the second half and which eventually forced him from the field. Combative again as Sweden battled in vain to beat Italy.
Came to prominence in September 1998 when he scored Sweden's winning goal
against England in their Euro2000 qualifier.
A former newspaper distributor, he signed for Celtic two months later and has won over the Parkhead faithful with a series of no-nonsense displays either in the heart of the defence or midfield.
Packs a punch with his long-range shooting and always firm in the
tackle. Formerly with AIK Solna where he spent 14 years.
