Position:
Forward
Kennet Andersson

(GaryMPrior/Allsport)

Shirt No: 19
Age: 32
Caps: 79
Goals: 31
Club: Bologna (Italy)

Profile:

The apex of the rather limited Sweden strategy in the opener against Belgium and won everything in the air. His flick-ons did not find his teamates though. Apart from the lack of a goal can be happy with his opening performance.

Played through the pain barrier against Turkey after falling heavily on his ankle and was eventually substituted at half-time. Unable to start the Italy game, but came on as a substitute.

With 31 goals in 74 internationals, he has proven himself more than capable on the international scene, and was Sweden's top-scorer with five in their 1994 World Cup campaign. He stands at 6'4" tall and his height has been an undoubted asset in his successful career with Bologna - and all too briefly with Lazio - in Italy.

Now coming to the end of a distinguished career, this might be the last tournament where he is still ranked Sweden's top frontman.
