Racing Santander's Pedro Munitis' strength and pace could be useful against tiring defences. Scored his debut international goal against Poland, having made his international bow against Austria in a 9-0 despatching of Spain's qualifying-group rivals. Came off the bench to score in the Yugoslavia game. A real livewire against France in the quarter-finals. Was the biggest thorn in France's side - shooting just wide in the first half, putting in a number of dangerous crosses from the left and generally causing mayhem. Was brought down by Thuram for the Spanish penalty, cutting in on the Frenchman and forcing a stupid challenge with his pace. A collected sigh of relief from the French defence when he was replaced by Etxeberria.
