Much-travelled midfielder who is in his second spell at Maribor after a 12-month spell in Japan with Gamba Osaka.
A key figure playing in front of the back four, Karic is another big reason for Maribor's recent success. A fearsome tackler, he can also play as a full-back, but more often holds the fort with Ales Ceh as one of the workers in the Slovenian midfield.
Played nine qualifying matches, but missed two matches through suspension.
Very creative in both games but picked up a booking against Spain.
A vital part of Slovenia's exciting Euro 2000 effort.
