Often Norway's captain, a rock solid defender with years of experience. Although by no means a first choice at Old Trafford, Berg has enjoyed another trophy-laden season.
He was the first Norwegian to win an English championship-winning medal - with Blackburn in 1995 - and won his country's player of the year award in the same year.
Able to play at right-back or in the middle, Berg remains an integral and pivotal figure in the national team, despite playing in only six of Norway's qualifying games.
He started - impressively - against Spain but was subbed with an apparent hamstring injury which must make him doubtful for the next game.
Strong, combative but sometimes outpaced by faster strikers. Despite his struggles to hold a regular spot at Old Trafford he rarely lets United down when he does play.
