Even at his tender age, Rosu has tasted success with five back-to-back Romanian championships at Steaua, not to mention domestic cup honours in 1996, 1997 and 1999.
This season, however, Steaua have struggled, although Rosu has retained his form going into the summer tournament.
He made his international debut in October 1998, a 1-0 victory in Portugal, but was sent off midway through the second half. From such an inauspicious start, he has established himself as a useful squad member in Ienei's plans.
Came on as an effective substitute for Adrian Ilie.
