The vastly-experienced left-sided player has hardly missed a game for the national team since making his debut in 1991. Nearly added to his international goal-tally with a header against Germany in the Euro 2000 opener. He starred as Romania reached the 1994 World Cup quarter-finals, and played every game in Euro 96 and the 1998 World Cup. Busy and effective, he can also operate as a full-back, but is happiest pushing forward - his international goalscoring record testifying as much. Nearly added to his international goal-tally with a header against Germany in the Euro 2000 opener. Had lots of the ball against Portugal but just didn't have the finisjing touch. Scored Romania's equalizer against England. Another solid game for the veteran against Italy.
