Profile:

Came on as a late substitute on the left flank for Dorinel Munteanu in the warm-up match with Greece.

His appearance alongside Munteanu in the first game against Germany was something of a surprise, but Romania need to start gaining experience to their younger players sooner rather than later!

His move from Universitatea Craiova to the Dutch aces was something of a surprise.

The youngster defended well and kept Nuno Gomes pretty quiet.

Opened the scoring against England with his first goal for Romania, a cross/shot that went in-off the post.

His inexperience at international level showed against the Italians, with the movement from Inzaghi and Totti often pulling him into the centre. Will learn, though, and has a big future for the Romanians.
