The 'Mosquito's' international career is back on track after some inspirational displays in the second half of Norway's Euro 2000 qualifying campaign. Recalled for the clash with Greece, the attacking midfielder starred in Norway's 2-0 win and then played a crucial role in the team's run of five successive victories. But his preparations for the finals were disrupted by his dismissal in a Greek league match against Olympiakos Piraeus which resulted in a four-match ban and prematurely ended his season. Easily recognised by beard and long brown hair. Due to be transferred to TSV 1860 Munich next season. Outstanding against Spain where his passing and awareness caused problems for the opposition. Gave an equally strong performance against Yugoslavia. Probably Norway's best outfield player during Euro 2000. Would have missed the quarter-finals through suspension until fate intervened and the Spanish stole into the last eight.
