A surprise recall for the distinctive curly locks of Dan Eggen, a regular during the last World Cup.

Indeed, he scored in Norway's thrilling 2-2 draw with Morocco during that tournament, and has now been called up after the withdrawal of his injury-plagued former defensive partner, Ronny Johnsen.

His performances for Primera Liga surprise package Alaves in 1999-2000 have seen him come to the fore at just the right time.

Used as cover for the likes of Henning Berg, though Semb started him in the final warm-up game against italy. Came on for the injured Berg against Spain and didn't look out of place. Started against Yugoslavia and Slovenia.
