The tall striker is certain to be a star of the future. Having demonstrated his class for Rosenborg during their Champions' League campaign this season, Carew was linked with a number of top clubs across Europe. He eventually opted to join Valencia in Spain's Primera Liga for £7m where his talents should blossom. Strong, quick and a confident finisher, the youngster is a powerful asset for Norway to bring off the bench when required. Proved a handful to the Spanish national team when coming off the bench in Norway's opening victory of Euro 2000. Missed a golden opportunity against Yugoslavia. Started against Slovenia but failed to impress and was replaced by Bakke. Played from the start against Italy in Norway's final warm-up game and his headed goal won the match. Supremely self-confident despite often ragged finishing, he compares himself to James Bond on his own website www.sportsprofiler.com/carew (external link).
