Former Aston Villa striker Savo Milosevic has issued a rise-and-shine call to his Yugoslavia teammates ahead of the crucial match with Norway.
The Yugoslavs were caught napping in their opening game against Slovenia but managed to snatch a draw after being 3-0 down to their neighhbours, unlikely qualifiers for Euro 2000.
Milosevic came off the bench to score twice and looks set to start, partnering Predrag Mijatovic up front. Norway, meanwhile, chalked up a victory against Spain that was based on an old-fashioned work ethic.
Milosevic said: 'If we play against Norway the same as we did against Slovenia they would score seven. There would be no comebacks. I think all of us learned a lesson against Slovenia. Wake-up time is about to happen.'
The Yugoslavs are determined to limit the lines of supply to Norway's Chelsea striker Tore Andre Flo.
'It is important not to let Flo get the high balls,' said defender Miroslav Djukic. 'He usually distributes them to (Steffen) Iversen and (Ole Gunnar) Solskjaer.'
Coach Vujadin Boskov admits the Norwegians, playing in the finals for the first time, are a handful. 'They are great physically, superior in the air but certainly we can beat them - but only if we play like we did in the last 30 minutes against Slovenia,' he added.
