Jaap Stam is expected to play against Denmark in Holland's Euro 2000 tie on Friday despite a stitched eyelid, although the Dutch camp will wait until later in the week to be sure.
The cut was the result of a clash of heads with the Czechs' giant forward Jan Koller in Sunday's 1-0 victory.
The Manchester United centre back completed a light training session yesterday with a white plaster covering his stitched left eyelid and eyebrow.
Holland coach Frank Rijkaard said: 'I'll have to check with the medical staff,' then added that he believed Stam would be all right to face Denmark in Rotterdam.
The clash of heads forced Stam from the field during the second half and Dutch staff struggled for more than five minutes to patch him up. However, he was eventually replaced by Rangers-bound Bert Konterman.
