BRUNSSUM, Netherlands, June 13 (Reuters) - Nearly half of Denmark's squad took a day off training on Tuesday to rest ahead of another stern Euro 2000 test, this time against the Dutch in the tournament's toughest group on Friday.
The Danes, the weakest team in Group D which comprises four former European champions, were handed a 3-0 defeat by world champions France in their opening match although they had looked dangerous in the early stages.
Team spokesman Lars Berendt said: '10 players did not train today. They are resting and having massage.'
The Danes have two injury problems. Chelsea sweeper Jes Hoegh still has an Achilles tendon strain but the Danes hope he will be able to take some part in the tournament. AC Milan defender Thomas Helveg has a leg muscle injury.
It was not clear whether either would be fit for Friday but Helveg's injury is believed to be the less serious.
