OISTERWIJK, Netherlands, June 8 (Reuters) - Sweden midfielder Fredrik Ljungberg is fit for Saturday's opening Euro 2000 game against Belgium after recovering from a foot injury.
The Arsenal player tipped as the natural successor to influential Tomas Brolin in the national side injured his left foot in a friendly against Spain on June 3.
Swedish team spokesman Per Carlsson said Ljungberg had had no reaction to the injury during training on Wednesday and he was able to train fully on Thursday.
'He went to the hospital to get it checked but it was just sore,' Carlsson said. There were no other injury problems in the Swedish squad ahead of the game in Brussels.
