GEEL, Belgium, June 8 (Reuters) - Juventus midfielder Gianluca Zambrotta has injured his right calf in training but should be fit to face Turkey in Italy's opening match of the European championship on Sunday.
'It's not a big injury. We'll check it again later today and tomorrow,' coach Dino Zoff said on Thursday. Fiorentina's Angelo Di Livio will play if Zambrotta fails to recover before the group B game in Arnhem.
Lazio right back Paolo Negro injured an ankle in training on Wednesday but will be fit to play, Zoff said.
Italy were hit by two serious injuries on the eve of the European championship.
Leading striker Christian Vieri had to pull out of the squad with a hamstring strain while first choice goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon fractured a finger in Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Norway.
