MADRID, May 25 (Reuters) - Czech international Radek Bejbl said on Thursday he was leaving relegated Atletico Madrid.
The 27-year-old midfielder has been at Atletico for four
seasons after joining them from Slavia Prague.
'I will lose 90 per cent of my bonus payments if I play for
them in the second division,' Bejbl told the sports daily
Marca.
'There are plenty of players at this club who are in the
same position. I don't think I'm going to be the only one
leaving for the same reason..'
Bejbl has a contract with Atletico until 2003 and was
already certain to miss Saturday's Spanish Cup final against
Espanyol because of a country-before-club row.
He is part of the Czech squad for the Euro 2000 finals in
Belgium and the Netherlands next month and the Czechs have
refused to release him for the final in Valencia.
