Updated Monday May 1, 2000 Fowler denies bust-up with Liverpool By Leo Spall
Robbie Fowler has attempted to defuse his latest Liverpool crisis in the build-up to Ronnie Moran's testimonial on Tuesday night where Keegan is expected to assess the striker's fitness.
Fowler was reported to have had a row with manager Gerard Houllier after being told he was not in the squad for Sunday's final game of the season at Bradford.
Houllier denied afterwards that there had been a bust-up and, on the club's website, Fowler also refuted the claims.
The injury-hit striker, who has started just one league game since September following two ankle operations, has been named in England's squad of 28 for the Euro 2000 build-up matches against Brazil, Ukraine and Malta.
Keegan was at Valley Parade on Sunday hoping to run the rule over Liverpool's five England players but was only able to see Michael Owen, Jamie Redknapp, Emile Heskey and Steven Gerrard - with Fowler back home on Merseyside.
Fowler will play against Celtic in Moran's testimonial and said on the website: 'The truth is there has been no row, not even an exchange of words.
'The manager explained why I wasn't in the squad and I fully respect his decision.'
