PRAGUE, April 25 (Reuters) - Czech Republic coach
Jozef Chovanec has signed a new contract with the national team
which takes him up to the 2002 World Cup, the CTK news agency
said on Tuesday.
Slovak-born Chovanec, 40, replaced Dusan Uhrin at the
beginning of 1998 after the Euro 1996 runners-up failed to
qualify for that year's World Cup.
The Czechs have won 18 and drawn three of their 24 games
under Chovanec including an impressive 10 consecutive victories
in qualifiers for this year's European championships.
