Updated Tuesday August 8, 2000, 9:51 PM GMT Match Preview: Sweden v Turkey Preview | Half-time Report | Match Report | Match Stats Mustafa Denizli crossed swords once again with the Turkish media before retreating to prepare his team for their crucial clash with Sweden. Both Turkey and Sweden lost their opening Group B games. But, for coach Denizli, the result triggered a backlash of abuse from Turkey's fervent supporters and critical press. Fans called for the coach's head in the Arnhem Gelredome after Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Italy, and reporters were in no mood to let him off the hook before tomorrow's game in Eindhoven. "People forget some things very quickly," Denizli told non-Turkish journalists after hastily splitting the press conference into two halves. "I have seen this reaction all my life. It is the other side of victory. If you lose once you can lose it all. "There is big pressure. You can't be under this sort of pressure all the time or you lose your mind. "We should learn some things about the situation, but I don't see it happening. It hasn't happened in the last 30 or 40 years." Denizli was aggrieved about two refereeing decisions he believes went against his team at the weekend. He said: "They were two important decisions. One was a penalty given to Italy the other was a penalty not given for us. "We had fought back to 1-1, and the psychological and mental power was there to go on and score more goals. But, after the penalty decision, we lost that power." Meanwhile, the 50-year-old coach expects to have a full contingent to pick from at the Philips Stadium. Erdem Arif has recovered from the injury which forced him out of action against the Italians. Yalcin Sergen, Derelioglu Oktay, Recber Rustu and Temizkanoglu Ogun are all nursing slight injuries but are expected to be fit. The pressure on Sweden's coaching duo is less intense but Tommy Soderberg and Lars Lagerback have their own troubles. A crisis in defence is looming with Roland Nilsson injured and Patrik Andersson suspended following his sending-off in the Belgium game. Nilsson was thought to be suffering from concussion and had been ruled out of the remainder of the group games. He has since been cleared to play, but a twisted ankle means he will miss the Turkey match. Valencia's Joachim Bjorklund is the only defensive regular available, and he will be partnered by Olof Mellberg of Racing Santander in the centre of defence. They could be joined by Bologna's Teddy Lucic on the right and Real Zaragoza's Gary Sundgren on the left. Celtic midfielder Johan Mjallby can also play in defence and may be asked to fill in. His club team-mate Henrik Larsson came on in the second half against Belgium after his long lay-off with a broken leg. The lacklustre Swedish attack could benefit from his presence with Arsenal's Fredrik Ljungberg moving inside to play at the heart of midfield.
