Denied his first international goal by a questionable offside decision against Turkey, Di Livio was sent on by Zoff to tighten up the game but still posed an attacking threat.
Written off in his early-twenties, di Livio has confounded the critics and his many doubters by making a success of his career in Serie A and on the international stage.
He spent nine seasons playing in the lower leagues before Juventus gave him his big break in 1993.
Robust but fast down the flank, he is a superb crosser of a ball and a gutsy fighter.
