The giant frontman left Nottingham Forest in disgrace last summer after criticising the club and refusing to play for several months.
But since arriving at Vitesse Arnhem he has been a revelation, and speculation has linked him with a move to PSV Eindhoven as a possible replacement for injured Ruud van Nistelrooy.
With 25 goals in 29 starts for Vitesse this season, he could have done little more to put himself firmly in Rijkaard's plans.
