Bryan Robson made maybe his best capture when he persuaded Ziege to join the Riverside club from AC Milan in summer 1999.
The left-sided player has two great feet and has been used in centre midfield by Robson for much of the season.
Scored a hat-trick against Northern Ireland in qualifying and always looks to get forward when the chance presents itself.
Only returned to the international fold towards the end of qualifying but there was no surprise when he started against the Romanians.
Gave a decent performance against England though he really should have been booked for a series of questionable challenges.
