Recovered from rejection by Hertha Berlin to rebuild his career in the lower divisions before being snapped up by Leverkusen in 1995.
Has also played for SC Siemesstadt, Hertha Zehlendorf, Tennis Borussia Berlin and Tasmania 73 Berlin and is a hard-working neat footballer who will provide good back-up if needed this summer.
Tall and useful in the air, he made his international bow against Turkey in 1998 but has yet to become a regular.
