Admirably confident goalkeeper, who believes he should be Erich Ribbeck's number one.
Has European experience with Schalke, with whom he won the 1997 UEFA Cup, and has been one of the few successes in a disappointing season for Borussia Dortmund. Made his international debut against Oman in February 1998 and spent a brief spell with AC Milan before signing for Dortmund.
Germany's No.3 goalkeeper in the Andreas Koepke days,he has since become the No.2 and gained some more experience when he played the full 90 minutes in the friendly against
Switzerland in April.
