Updated Thursday July 13, 2000, 9:59 PM GMT Ulf Kirsten
The most prolific Bundesliga striker of the past decade -- and even at 34 shows no signs of slowing. With 17 goals in the Bundesliga, his goals and brilliant leading of the frontline have inspired Leverkusen. Despite his progressing years, the dynamic hitman will be a danger to England and any other side this summer. Struggled with injuries in the first part of the season but recovered and soon moved to the top of the scorers' table again. Oliver Bierhoff said he could imagine Kirsten playing at his side in the first team at Euro 2000. As well as his German caps, Kirsten also made 49 appearances for the former East Germany and should pass the 100-cap mark this summer. Scored a six minute hatrick in Germany's 8-1 win over Liechtenstein in their final warm-up match ahead of Euro 2000. Had a poor game against England. Came on for Jancker in the 69th minute against Portugal but to late to do anything about the 3-0 defeat.
