The German equivalent of Paraguayan extrovert Jose Luis Chilavert, Butt has become an icon in German football for both his goalkeeping and goalscoring abilities. As well as being an outstanding goalkeeper, he hit nine goals - all from the penalty spot - as Hamburg finished third in the Bundesliga this year.
Has spent three years in the top-flight, won his first international cap in June 2000 as a second-half substitute in Germany's 8-2 win over Liechtenstein. Could play a duel role as goalkeeper and penalty-taker in a shoot-out as he also has a reputation for saving penalties.
