Pace troubled Denmark during the opener, but was overshadowed by Henry. Ran out of steam and was substituted for Wiltord. Substituted early against France for Djorkaeff but he will probably still have a large part to play. Was a late substitute against Holland. Left Arsenal for Real in a massive £22million move after numerous problems trying to fit in at the London club. His Real career began on a negative note when the striker fell out of favour with his coach after failing to turn up to training. Played for France's Under-18 Championship winning squad in 1996 but did not feature for France's 1998 World Cup. Will be eager to show what he can do and should be among the top scorers as long as he doesn't make more problems for himself. Had little time to cause any panic in the Spanish defence as he came on as a late replacement for Thierry Henry in the quarter-final. Not a bad sub to bring on, though. Rewarded with a starting place against Portugal but could not get into the game and was replaced by Wiltord.
