(AlexLivesey/Allsport)

Shirt No: 9
Age: 22
Caps: 21
Goals: 8
Club: Feyenoord (Holland)

Profile:

Since his ill-fated spell under Kenny Dalglish at Newcastle, Tomasson has emerged as a fine player at Feyenoord, employed in his preferred position behind the front two.

He stood out in Feynoord's Champions League games this season, scoring twice against Lazio in the Olympic Stadium.

He also has a good international pedigree with his latest goal coming in the final warm-up match against co-hosts Belgium.

Played in the opening match for Denmark against France. He had a superb chance in the first few minutes to give the Danes a shock lead when he was clean through on goal against Fabien Barthez, but he wasted the chance.

Denmark went on to lose the game 3-0, and Tomasson was subsituted for Mikkel Beck 11 minutes from the end of the game.

Despite his hard work was unable to beat the Dutch defense and his chances were easily limited.

His performances in Euro 2000 gave unfortunate reminders of his days at St James' Park.
