Beck came to England with a big reputation but found it difficult to settle during his spell in the Premiership with both Middlesbrough and Derby.
Loans to First Division Nottingham Forest and QPR were marginally more successful, but he should be kept on the bench at Euro 2000 by both Tomasson and Sand.
Played as a substitute in Denmark's first game of the tournament - a 3-0 defeat against France. He replaced Jon Dahl Tomasson 11 minutes from time.
His performances in Euro 2000 proved what most observers have thought for a long time. He just isn't up to football at the highest level.
