An experienced defender who has played over 30 times for his country after making his debut in 1995 against Kuwait. Played in the semi-final and final of Euro 96 after suspensions to more experienced players presented the oppurtunity. The Slavia Prague defender helped his club to the UEFA Cup quarter-finals and has played in six of the Czech's Euro 2000 qualifying matches. A strong tackler with excellent arial ability. Started against the Dutch and gave a more than decent performance. Played well and worked hard in the Czech defence but could do nothing about the two goals. A fixture during Euro 2000.
