Highly experienced midfielder who was part of the Czech's Euro 96 squad but missed the final after being sent off against Portugal.
He has received over 50 international caps since making his debut against Spain in 1991.
Plays his club football for German side FC Schalke and was part of their UEFA Cup winning side in 1997.
A dedicated player but has only played in three qualifying matches and so will be unlikely to be in the starting 11.
Disciplinary problems surfaced again when he was dismissed from the bench by Pierluigi Collina after being substituted in the opener against the Dutch. Looks set to miss the rest of the group stage.
