After a decade at Lierse, Van Kerckhoven went off to pastures new in Germany. With Belgium yet to find the right defensive balance, he could still make the left-back position his own. Coming on for Leonard against Sweden, he certainly did enough to earn a shot at the starting XI. Is a useful crosser of the ball.
