Shirt No: 1
Age: 35
Caps: 32
Goals: 0
Club: Anderlecht

Profile:

A vastly experienced goalkeeper who has been part of the Belgian set-up for over a decade, this could be the final international tournament of de Wilde's career.

Terrible blunder to concede Sweden's goal in the first match of Euro 2000 but made up for that with excellent handling and lots of confidence.

Made his debut in 1989 but then saw Michel Preud'homme dominate the number one jersey until the 1994 World Cup.

Ronny Gaspercic seemed to be Waseige's first-choice keeper but didn't make the final 22.

Disastrous error that gifted a goal to Johan Mjallby overshadowed what was otherwise a solid display in Belgium's opening 2-1 victory. Blameless, meanwhile, for Italy's two goals in the second Group B match.

Then he went and ruined it all again in what proved to be Belgium's final match, against Turkey.

He let in a soft goal from a high, bouncing ball in the first half, and a suicidal lunge at Arif earned him a red card. He got to the bath first - but the rest of his team-mates weren't far behind.
