De Vlieger fled Belgium for Dutch side Willem II after losing his place in the Anderlecht side to Filip de Wilde.
Won his first Belgian cap against Cyprus in February last year, but his most recent appearance prior to the build-up was against England back in October.
Then came on for the injured de Wilde in the warm-up match againgst Denmark and found himself conceding a penalty scored by none other than Peter Schmeichel.
