De Bilde joined Wednesday for £3million from PSV Eindhoven last summer, but failed to score the goals to keep his side in the Premiership. That said, he has committed himself, in public at least, to staying at Hillsborough and trying to win promotion.
Formerly the wild man of Belgian football, De
Bilde has returned to the national squad after "retiring" from
international football.
The terrier-like player is a useful
asset thanks to his speed and tenacity but has struggled to
score goals for Wednesday, netting only eight times in 41 matches last season.
