Peeters was used as a late substitute in the opening game for Belgium, but he can expect to see more action in the coming games.
Moved to Germany in 1998, and made his international debut in last year's 5-5 draw against Holland, but Bielefeld have just been relegated to the second tier of the Bundesliga and he may be looking for a summer move.
Has new coach Robert Waseige to thank for his
arrival in the national team at the relatively mature age of 29.
With a dearth of quality defenders in Belgium's domestic league,
his performances for struggling German side Arminia Bielefeld
have not gone unnoticed.
