Hendrikx has made the bizarre transition from right-wing to left-back in the Belgian side but - when called on - has proved a solid defender with a penchant for the occasional forward foray.
He has spent his whole career with Genk, and made his international debut against Peru last year.
He made a name for himself when Genk won the title in 1999 and is now establishing himself in the national side.
Can play in midfield, attack or defence, but best probably as a defensive midfielder.
Another to suffer the frustration of a missed chance as Turkey provided the knockout blow.
