The Scottish Football Association's executive committee was due to meet later today but Craig Brown's job prospects are not on the agenda.

Scotland boss Brown: Saw World Cup dream dashed (BenRadford/Allsport) |
Brown's current contract expires at the end of December and it is
the executive committee that will decide whether it is to be
renewed.
Brown has been in charge since October 1993 and has taken the Scots
to two tournaments Euro 96 and the World Cup finals of 1998.
But last night's 2-0 defeat in Belgium means they now have only a
slender chance of making it to Japan and Korea next year.
The Scots also missed out on the Euro 2000 finals, having been
beaten in the play-offs by England.
It would be no surprise therefore if the powers that be at Hampden
Park decided the time was ripe for change.
But an SFA spokesman insisted no decision was likely to be made
today.
She said: 'There is an executive committee meeting this afternoon
but that had been scheduled for a long time.
'Craig Brown's job was not on the agenda and there have been no
change of plans since last night.'
SFA chief executive David Taylor said: 'Craig's contract is up for
renewal and it will be discussed.
'The Belgium defeat was very disappointing. I am bitterly
disappointed for the supporters.'
Brown himself plans to battle on but admits he is anxious to
discuss his future with Scottish soccer chiefs.
The Scots need a seven-goal turnaround to pip Croatia on goal
difference and would have to thrash Latvia at Hampden Park and hope
that Belgium win in Croatia at the same time to qualify for a
play-off spot.
Brown told Sky Sports News: 'Whether I carry on is a matter for
myself and the Scottish FA's executive committee.
'I am anxious to discuss the situation with my employers. It will
be a discussion in private. Presumably an announcement will be made.
'My contract runs to December, and I intend to honour it to
December. We'll have to wait and see what happens.'
Former Scotland striker Steve Archibald is in no doubt that Brown's
reign is about to end.
He said: 'His Brown's future will be discussed heavily over the
next few days, and I think Craig has pretty much served his time with
Scotland.
'I think tactical errors have been made, particularly against
Croatia last week. I also think the personnel he picked last night
was wrong.
'Craig is also the technical director of Scottish football, so
there is more than his job as coach at stake here.'
