Morton player's verbal attack
By Jim Black

Furious Morton midfielder Andy Brownrigg had to be escorted out of Cappielow by police after launching a verbal attack on owner Mick Peden.

Brownrigg, signed from Kidderminster Harriers for £25,000 in August, claims he has not been paid for the past eight weeks.

His outburst came just minutes after the end of Morton's home match against Falkirk which resulted in a 4-0 defeat for the Greenock side.

Brownrigg said: 'Mike Peden has put me through hell. I have not been paid for eight weeks.

'I am receiving final demands for unpaid bills because I have no money. I have nothing to hide and I would like Mr Peden to come out and face me.' However, Peden refused to show and Brownrigg was marched away by police officers.

Morton manager Allan Evans refused to comment about the incident and stressed that he expects Brownrigg to be at at training tomorrow morning.

Brownrigg wasn't in Morton's squad for a game which saw home players Harry Curran and Andy Millen red-carded by referee Brian McGarry. Curran was sent off in the first half for dissent and Millen in the second after appearing to elbow Andy Lawrie in the face.

Falkirk were on top from the 14th minute when Mark Roberts converted a penalty. Kevin Christie added a second before the interval and then Gareth Hutchison hit a double in a two-minute spell, striking in 53 and 55 minutes.

Ayr's recent signing from Dundee, Steve Boyack, was United's star as they beat Alloa 3-1. Boyack struck after only eight minutes before Glynn Hurst added a second. Willie Irvine pulled one back before the interval but Hurst wrapped up the points in 76 minutes.

Inverness fought back to earn a point in a 2-2 draw with leaders Livingston. Mark McCulloch had opened the scoring for Livvy in 31 minutes, then added a second with a 58th-minute header.

But Roy McBain pulled one back for the home side just a minute later and Paul Sheerin knocked in the equaliser on 69 minutes. Caley's day was spoiled when Bobby Mann was ordered off in the final minute.

Clyde also fought back to earn a point in a 2-2 draw with Ross County. Craig Taggart put the Highlanders ahead, Pat Keogh equalising. Darren Henderson restored County's lead in 57 minutes before Mark McLaughlin tied it up 12 minutes later.

Raith Rovers and Airdrie shared the points in a 1-1 draw. After John Elliott had put Airdrie ahead midway thorugh the first-half, Dene Shields drove in a second-half equaliser.
