Brechin City's promotion hopes took a blow as Albion fought hard to earn a 1-1 draw at Cliftonhill.

Albion dominated the first half and took a deserved lead after 32 minutes when Steve McCormick struck from close range.

And the home side held on to that lead until 14 minutes from full-time when a penalty was awarded for handball and Kevin Bain thumped home the spot kick.

Neither side made an impact in the final minutes of the game and third-placed Brechin were forced to settle for the point.
