Full-time: Stranraer 2 - 0 Queen of the South
Soccernet.com

Stranraer upset the form book to run out winners against Queen of the South.

And in doing so they registered their first home league victory since mid-December.

Queens started strongly as they skilfully sprayed the ball about but after six minutes they were a goal down.

Stranraer's Martin McLauchlan fought his way down the left and his cross found Ian Harty who turned quickly and whipped in a low shot from eight yards which evaded diving keeper Jamie Campbell.

It was really the only highlight in a tight first half which ended with McLauchlan missing a gilt-edged chance to double Stranraer's lead after shooting high over the crossbar from close range.

Stranraer remained well on top after the break and should have scored more than Harty's second goal which came after 83 minutes.

He ran on to a long pass from Duncan George and neatly slotted home.

Queens made a late flurry but all they had to show for it was a drive by John O'Neil - their first on-target effort all game - but his namesake in the home goal Stephen O'Neill pulled off a brilliant save.
