Montrose eased their relegation fears at the wrong end of the Division Three table with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Dumbarton.
Facing the Sons for a second time in four days, the hosts gained revenge for Tuesday's defeat by the same scoreline as goals from Andrew Hutcheon and Jonathan Mitchell gave them three precious points.
After a tight opening spell, Montrose broke the deadlock when Hutcheon fired home his second goal in as many games.
But on the stroke of half-time Dumbarton hauled themselves level as Paddy Flannery found the net.
After the break the two sides vied for control in a tight midfield tussle, but it was Montrose, who came out on top when Mitchell struck on 76 minutes to hand the visitors the win.
