Brechin were denied three valuable points in their push for promotion as a late Martin Johnston goal levelled matters in a 1-1 draw against Peterhead at Glebe Park.
Kevin Fotheringham put Dick Campbell's men ahead after 61 minutes to break the resistance of a stubborn Peterhead outfit.
But Johnston had the final say after 81 minutes to prevent Brechin recording their 12th home win of the campaign.
Ian Wilson's men, who enjoyed a run to the Scottish Cup quarter-finals earlier in the season, made life difficult for Brechin throughout and will be pleased to take a share of the spoils.
Ivor Pirie was inspirational in the visitors' goal and a well-organised defence kept Roddy Grant, scorer of 22 goals so far this season, relatively quiet.
