Peterhead's hopes of making it five successive league wins were shattered at home to Dumbarton, who grabbed a 1-0 win.
The only goal came in the 31st minute and resulted from a good move involving Kevin McCann and Joseph Robertson.
Dumbarton were awarded a penalty in the 40th minute when Martin Johnson upended Robertson in the box, but were unable to convert their chance.
Paddy Flannery took the spot-kick but, Peterhead keeper Ivor Pirie threw himself across his goal and palmed the ball to safety.
The second half started as the first had ended with Dumbarton pressing forward and Flannery was unlucky not to put the visitors further ahead when his shot was cleared off the line by Steve King.
Ian Stewart had a chance to level in the 57th minute when he broke clear of the Dumbarton defence, but his shot was well held by goalkeeper John Wright.
Peterhead continued to push forward in search of an equaliser, but the visiting defence held firm until the final whistle.
