East Fife's promotion hopes suffered a setback when they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Elgin.
The home side controlled the early play and Steve Kerrigan fired them into a 35th-minute lead following good work from Barry Moffat.
Elgin pushed forward in the second half and were awarded a penalty eight minutes after the restart when Connor Campbell fouled Stewart Mackay in the area.
Davie Ross made no mistake from the resulting spot-kick and almost grabbed a winner for the visitors when he fired a close-range effort over the crossbar late in the game.
