Stranraer's faint hopes of promotion look dead after they were beaten 3-0 by relegation-threatened Stirling.
The visitors were livelier all through and could well have been ahead earlier than the opening goal on 25 minutes from Neil Bennett.
Stranraer were nowhere in the first half and were lucky to survive an early second-half onslaught which saw shots blocked and many near misses by the visitors.
The home side were deeper in trouble on 65 minutes when Fraser Wright, earlier booked, was dismissed for a second yellow card.
Stirling's Chris Templeman finished the contest with a spectacular goal on 77 minutes, and Alec Williams, on as substitute three minutes from time, sealed it with Stirling's third a minute from time.
In an ill-tempered match, Stranraer had Ian Farrell and Alan Jenkins cautioned while Stirling's Templeman and Craig Feroz also picked up yellow cards.
